ATLANTIC DIVISION STANDINGS

LAST TIME OUT:
The Bears return to the ice this evening after claiming a 2-1 victory over the AHL's top team, the Charlotte Checkers, last Sunday. Hershey opened the scoring on a goal by Jayson Megna at 16:01 of the first period, but Nicolas Roy tied the game at 10:09 of the second period. At 18:29 of the middle frame, Hershey's Riley Barber scored the eventual game-winning goal on a 5-on-3 power play. Ilya Samsonov stopped 29 shots to earn the win for Hershey. The Penguins were last in action this past Saturday, suffering a 4-1 loss at Grand Rapids. Sam Miletic had the lone goal for the Baby Pens.

OUT OF HIBERNATION:
The Chocolate and White enter tonight on a 12-game point streak, going 11-0-0-1 since Jan. 12. Hershey was five games below .500 when the streak started, while the club now boasts a 26-20-0-3 record, and are just two points out of a playoff spot with fewer games played than any team in the Atlantic Division. The point streak is tied for the longest active streak in the AHL with the Bakersfield Condors who have won 12 straight games. In the streak, the Bears have allowed two or less goals in eight straight games, and the club has won six one-goal games.

SEASON SERIES VERSUS PENGUINS:
The Bears boast a 6-2-0-1 record in nine contests versus the club's I-81 rival this season. The Chocolate and White have won the last three contests versus the Penguins, outscoring them 13-6. Hershey's leading scorers in the season series are Mike Sgarbossa (five goals, five assists) and Aaron Ness (10 assists). With the recall of Teddy Blueger (five goals, five assists), the Penguins are without their top scorer in the season series, however Adam Johnson still has eight points (five goals, three assists) against Hershey.

LUCKY NUMBER SEVEN:
Hershey looks for its seventh win in the season series versus the Penguins tonight. The Bears have not won seven head-to-head contests versus the Baby Pens since the 2012-13 season, a year in which the Bears went 7-3-2-0. Current Hershey assistant coach Patrick Wellar was part of that Bears team and played in four of the games in the season series. Additionally, current Hershey forward Jayson Megna was on the other side of the rivalry that year, posting two assists in eight games against the Bears with Wilkes-Barre/Scranton.

MEGNA'S MAGIC NUMBER:
Tonight marks the 400th professional game for Hershey forward Jayson Megna. The veteran has skated in 113 NHL games, and 286 AHL contests with Wilkes-Barre/Scranton, Hartford, Utica, and Hershey. He has collected 22 points (10 goals, 12 assists) in 45 games with the Bears this season, including tallying six of his goals versus Wilkes-Barre/Scranton. Megna enters tonight with points in two straight games.
