Bears Sign Jeremy Langlois to AHL Contract

October 5, 2017

The Hershey Bears announced today that the club has signed forward Jeremy Langlois to a one-year, American Hockey League contract. The announcement was made by Vice President of Hockey Operations, Bryan Helmer.

Langlois, 27, signed a tryout with Hershey on Sept. 18. He appeared in both preseason games with Hershey, notching one goal. In 2016-17, he scored 14 points with the Rockford IceHogs, including eight goals and six assists in 66 games.

The Tempe, Arizona native enjoyed the best season of his AHL career in 2015-16 with San Jose, finishing eighth on the team in points (34) and seventh in assists (22). The 5-foot-10, 175-pound forward can play center or wing. He has 78 career points (38 goals, 40 assists) in 188 AHL games with Rockford, San Jose, Bridgeport, Springfield, and Worcester

A former ECHL All-Rookie Team member, Langlois played four years at Quinnipiac working with current Hershey assistant coach Reid Cashman. Langlois led the Bobcats to the NCAA title game in 2013 and was named an ECAC Third-Team All-Star. He scored 100 points (56 goals, 44 assists) in his NCAA career.

Additionally, the club has announced that forward Matt Carey has been released from his tryout agreement.

The Bears open the regular season this Saturday, Oct. 7 at the PPL Center versus the rival Lehigh Valley Phantoms. The puck drops at 7:05 p.m. and the game may be heard on the Bears Radio Network as Zack Fisch has the call from Allentown.
