Capitals Recall Mathieu Perreault, Steve Pinizzotto and Patrick McNeill from Hershey
ARLINGTON, Va. â" The Washington Capitals have recalled forwards Mathieu Perreault and Steve Pinizzotto and defenseman Patrick McNeill from the
Hershey Bears of the American Hockey League (AHL), vice president and general manager George McPhee announced today.
Perreault, 23, appeared in 35 games for Washington during the regular season, posting 14 points (seven goals, seven assists) and 20 penalty minutes. The 5â™10â, 182-pound native of Drummondville, Quebec, played in 34 games for Hershey this season, registering 35 points (11 goals, 24 assists) and eight penalty minutes. He appeared in all six Calder Cup playoff games versus Charlotte and recorded six points (three goals, three assists) and a plus-three rating. His three goals led Hershey in postseason scoring. Perreault was Washingtonâ™s sixth-round selection (177th overall) in the 2006 NHL Entry Draft. He will wear jersey No. 85 for Washington.
Pinizzotto, 26, registered four points (two goals, two assists) in six Calder Cup playoff games for Hershey. He finished the regular season sixth on the team with 42 points (17 goals, 25 assists) and set career highs in points, goals and penalty minutes (178). The 6â™1â, 197-pound native of Mississauga, Ontario was signed as a free agent on Mar. 16, 2007. He will wear No. 42 for Washington.
McNeill, 24, led all Hershey defensemen with three points (one goal, two assists) in six Calder Cup playoff games versus Charlotte. He registered 27 points (seven goals, 20 assists) and 30 penalty minutes in 51 games for Hershey during 2010-1. The 6â™0â, 198-pound native of Strathroy, Ontario, was drafted by Washington in the fourth round (118th overall) of the 2005 Entry Draft. McNeill will wear jersey No. 46 for Washington.
All three players will report to Washington Wednesday.
