FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: October 16, 2010 CONTACT: John Walton â€" HERSHEY BEARS â€" ROCHESTER EDGES HERSHEY 3-2 SATURDAY AT GIANT CENTER NYLANDER SCORES FOR AMERICANS, ROCHESTER SPOILS HERSHEY’S 2010-11 HOME OPENER WITH NARROW DECISION ALONG HERSHEYPARK DRIVE Despite all of the positive feelings generated by HERSHEY’S 2009-10 Calder Cup pregame ceremony and banner raising, Rochester rallied from an early deficit to post a 3-2 win at Giant Center Saturday night. Brian Willsie opened the scoring with his second goal in as many nights, a power play strike at 5:40 from Keith Aucoin and Lawrence Nycholat. The goal gave HERSHEY a 1-0 lead, but it would be the only lead of the night for the Chocolate and White. Three unanswered goals from the Americans would turn the tide, the first of which came from Michael Repik at 11:04 of the first. Former Washington Capital Michael Nylander gave the Amerks their first lead of the night, with a one-time tip off a Triston Grant pass at 14:53 of the first. Evgeny Dadonov scored what proved to be the game-winner at 7:15 of the second period through BEARS goaltender Dany Sabourin. Andrew Gordon would pull HERSHEY within one with a tip of a Willsie shot at 6:54, but the home team would pull no closer. Sabourin would take the loss, making 16 saves. Amerks backstop Jacob Markstrom earned his second win in four decisions. BEARS Radio Network Three Stars of the game: 1. Jacob Markstrom (Second win of the season) 2. Brian Willsie (First period power play goal) 3. Michael Nylander (First period goal for the former Capital) Notes: HERSHEY is off until Friday, when the club travels to Wilkes-Barre/Scranton to face the Penguins at Mohegan Sun Arena. Faceoff in northeast PA is at 7:05 p.m. The BEARS will host the Adirondack Phantoms for a pair of games next weekend at Giant Center. Call the Giant Center box office for tickets at 717-508-BEAR.
