10/03/2010 - FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: October 3, 2010 CONTACT: John Walton - HERSHEY BEARS – BEARS TRIM ROSTER FOLLOWING CONCLUSION OF PRESEASON SCHEDULE HERSHEY FARMS OUT SEVEN AS 2010 TRAINING CAMP COMES TO A CLOSE, CHOCOLATE AND WHITE OPEN 2010-11 REGULAR SEASON SATURDAY AT WILKES-BARRE/SCRANTON HERSHEY – The 2010 Calder Cup Champion HERSHEY BEARS announced today seven separate roster moves as the team prepares for the 2010-11 regular season. The announcement was made today by BEARS President/GM Doug Yingst. The BEARS have reassigned goaltender Jared DeMichiel, right wing David de Kastrozza, center Jake Hauswirth, defenseman Dustin Stevenson and forward Anton Gustafsson to South Carolina (ECHL). Additionally, HERSHEY assigned left wing Kaleigh Schrock to Fort Wayne (IHL) and released defenseman Wes O'Neill from his player tryout contract. The Chocolate and White will try to become just the second team in AHL history to win three straight Calder Cup titles, officially kicking off its title defense this Saturday night at Wilkes-Barre/Scranton at 7:05 p.m. The new BEARS Radio Network kicks off Saturday night, with the pregame show starting a full half-hour before game time at 6:35 p.m. Become part of the largest fan base in the American Hockey League while catching all the excitement of Hershey Bears Hockey.
