BEARS SIGN BRANDON SUGDEN AND DYLAN YEO FOR 2009-10

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: August 12, 2009 CONTACT: John Walton â€" HERSHEY BEARS â€" (717) 682-6470 BEARS SIGN RUGGED RIGHT WING BRANDON SUGDEN FOR 2009-10 SEASON ENFORCER COMES TO CHOCOLATETOWN AS DEFENDING CHAMPIONS ADD TOUGHNESS, BEARS ALSO SIGN ECHL ALL-STAR DEFENSEMAN DYLAN YEO FOR NEXT SEASON HERSHEY â€" The 2009 Calder Cup Champion HERSHEY BEARS announced today the club has signed right wing Brandon Sugden to a contract for the upcoming 2009-10 season. The announcement was made today by BEARS President/GM Doug Yingst. Sugden, 31, comes to HERSHEY after skating in 56 games last season for Hartford (AHL). It was there he piled up 136 penalty minutes in 56 games. His American Hockey League career includes his most lengthy stay in Syracuse with the Crunch, where Sugden amassed 754 minutes of penalty time in just 164 games played. A native of Toronto, Sugden is 6’4â€, 230 lbs, and was originally drafted by the Toronto Maple Leafs (fifth round, 111th overall in the 1996 NHL Entry Draft.) “We’re pleased that Brandon has made the decision to sign with us†said BEARS President/GM Doug Yingst. “Our team will benefit by having his element of toughness in our lineup this season.†The BEARS also announced Wednesday that the club has signed defenseman Dylan Yeo to a 2009-10 contract. Yeo, 23, split time in 2008-09 between Manitoba (AHL) and Victoria (ECHL), skating in 14 games for the Moose. A former ECHL All-Star, Yeo scored 10 goals and assisted on 33 others in 52 games last season for Victoria. Season tickets for the 2009-10 season are on sale now by calling (717) 508-BEAR. Several ticket plans are available. The 2009-10 schedule will be released Thursday afternoon at 4:00 p.m. eastern time by the American Hockey League.
