WIN NUMBER 46 IN THE BANK: BEARS WIN 2-1 SUNDAY

The BEARS rallied Sunday from a 1-0 deficit to defeat the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins 2-1 in a shootout at Mohegan Sun Arena. Ben Lovejoy scored the only goal in regulation for Wilkes-Barre/Scranton late in the first period, his eighth goal of the season. Down 1-0 midway through the second, Kyle Wilson battled up the left side and slipped a puck past Penguins goaltender Brad Thiessen to tie the game at 1-1. The game remained that way through the third period and overtime, as the game advanced to a shootout. HERSHEY won in five rounds to win three games of four on the week, and total 94 points at the three-quarter mark of the 2009-10 season. The shootout win was HERSHEY’S fourth in a row in the skills competition, all on the road. BEARS Radio Network Three Stars of the game: 1. Semyon Varlamov (One goal allowed in regulation) 2. Kyle Wilson (Only goal scored in regulation for Hershey) 3. Brad Thiessen (Excellent in a losing effort for WBS) Notes: HERSHEY takes on the Bridgeport Sound Tigers Tuesday night at 7:00 p.m., concluding a stretch of five games in seven nights. Wilson’s goal was his 20th of the season, marking the fourth straight season the Oakville, ON native has scored 20 or more goals. The BEARS return home Saturday to face the Penguins at Giant Center at 7:00 p.m. Sunday’s game marked the final time in the 2009-10 season the BEARS will play at Mohegan Sun Arena.
