BEARS BEAT UP ADIRONDACK 5-1 FRIDAY

November 27, 2009

HERSHEY continued its strong road play in 2009-10 on Friday night, defeating the Adirondack Phantoms 5-1 at the Glens Falls Civic Center. Neither team scored in the first period, but the scoring floodgates opened for the Chocolate and White in the second. Michael Dubuc, in just his second AHL game of the season and fifth overall, scored his first AHL goal 1:16 into the second to give the BEARS a 1-0 lead. A short time later at the 3:45 mark, Andrew Gordon put home his ninth goal of the campaign to lift HERSHEY to a 2-0 lead. After Krys Kolanos scored an even strength goal to put the Phantoms on the board, Kyle Wilson regained a two-goal lead for the visitors. Wilson’s goal at 16:13 of the second from John Carlson and Francois Bouchard gave the BEARS a 3-1 lead after 40 minutes. The third period would see two goals from the same player to round out the scoring. Boyd Kane scored at 4:05 at even strength and added a short-handed goal from Gavin Morgan at 18:33. The win for the BEARS was the club’s ninth of the season in 12 road games. Goaltender Michal Neuvirth won his seventh game of the season. BEARS Radio Network Three Stars of the game: 1. John Carlson (Three assists) 2. Keith Aucoin (Two assists) 3. Boyd Kane (Two late goals, including one short-handed) Notes: Left wing Alexandre Giroux was recalled by Washington Friday.
