BEARS TRAVEL TO BINGHAMTON FRIDAY NIGHT

November 20, 2009

HERSHEY hits the road Friday night to take on the Binghamton Senators at Broome County Veterans Memorial Arena. Face-off is at 7:05 p.m. The BEARS begin the weekend in first place in the East Division, three points ahead of the upstart Norfolk Admirals and five points ahead of the Senators. HERSHEY has two games in hand on the Admirals and one game on Binghamton. The BEARS are 2-1-0-0 this season against the Senators, with the visiting team winning every game so far in the series. Alexandre Giroux has four goals and five points in three games against the Senators this season, with all four goals coming in New York. The Chocolate and White will be without the services of Jay Beagle, Michal Neuvirth and John Carlson Friday night. All three players were recalled to Washington this week. Carlson is likely to make his NHL debut Friday at Verizon Center against the Montreal Canadiens. Beagle played Tuesday in New York against the Rangers, and Neuvirth could earn a start Saturday in Toronto against the Maple Leafs at Air Canada Centre. Around the East Division Friday, Norfolk continues a two-week road trip in Lowell against the Devils, while Syracuse travels to Rochester to meet the Americans at 7:05 p.m. Albany will visit Manchester at 7:30 p.m. Friday at Verizon Wireless Arena in New Hampshire. Friday’s game can be heard via the BEARS Radio Network (100.1 FM and www.Sportsjuice.com) beginning at 6:45 p.m. John Walton has the call of the action from New York’s southern tier.
