Skate into March at GIANT Center
02/24/2009 - (HERSHEY, PA) — The BEARS are back at the barn this weekend for two big games. On Saturday the Norfolk Admirals visit for a 7 PM face-off. It's "Central PA Public Libraries Night", and the first 4,000 fans receive a coffee scooper with a coupon for one FREE 8 oz. bag of house blend coffee from Elizabethtown Coffee Company, compliments of Elizabethtown Public Library. Saturday is also "Rare Disease Night", and fans are encouraged to join Uplifting Athletes at the game. Started in 2003 by the Penn State football team to benefit the Kidney Cancer Association, Uplifting Athletes has grown into a national network of university chapters enabling college football student-athletes to help rare disease patients. The evening will include a raffle and silent auction featuring autographed memorabilia from the 2008 Big Ten Championship winning Penn State football team. Approximately one out of 12 Americans have been diagnosed with a rare disease and typically little can be done because their disease affects fewer than 200,000 Americans. Members of local rare disease organizations have been invited to the game for this special night! Be sure to stop by their booth outside section 103 for your chance to win great prizes and help a wonderful cause. For more information, please visit www.upliftingathletes.org. Finally, in celebration of Chocolate Covered February, fans will receive pieces of candy as they exit the game, compliments of The Hershey Company. The BEARS would like to thank the Hershey Company for graciously donating all the candy. Then on Sunday the Providence Bruins come to the barn for a 5 PM puck drop. It's "Faith Night" with Elyon's Fire playing live on the concourse as fans enter. Elyon's Fire used to be a happy little punk band. Four high-school boys thought they were going to make it somewhere in life with their loud music. It occurred to them that there are a million others louder than they could ever be. As a result, two of them left the band while the remaining two have been trying to pick up the pieces. Elyon's Fire is a passion that runs deep in the artist's veins, and is the small voice in their ear. It is the beautiful song in their heart that can barely be expressed on an instrument. Fans should stick around after the game as a few players will be signing autographs for 45-minutes in the Club Lounge. *All information subject to change without notice. Each Wednesday, Friday, and Sunday BEARS home game (except HERSHEYPARK pass nights) tickets will be offered for $10.00 in sections 210 and 211—a savings of $6.00 per ticket. Each fan in sections 210 - 211 will also receive a custom designed IT'S ALL ABOUT THE CUP t-shirt. Be sure to keep your eyes peeled throughout the season because you never know what regional celebrity you could be sitting with! Tickets will be available for purchase at the beginning of each month. Call 508 – BEAR or visit HersheyBears.com for tickets. There is a six ticket limit per customer. ###
