07/15/2008 - FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: July 15, 2008 CONTACT: John Walton – HERSHEY BEARS – (717) 682-6470 BEARS PRESIDENT/GM DOUG YINGST AND WASHINGTON CAPITALS HEAD COACH BRUCE BOUDREAU TO BE HONORED DAUPHIN COUNTY COMMISSIONERS TO HONOR THE PAIR WEDNESDAY IN AWARDS CEREMONY AT DAUPHIN COUNTY ADMINISTRATION BUILDING IN HARRISBURG HERSHEY – The HERSHEY BEARS announced today in conjunction with the Dauphin County Commissioners that BEARS President/GM Doug Yingst and Washington Capitals head coach Bruce Boudreau will be honored for their outstanding achievements in a ceremony Wednesday in downtown Harrisburg. Yingst, a two-time winner of the James H. Hendy award as the American Hockey League's Executive of the Year, claimed another honor last week as he was named the Thomas Ebright award winner for outstanding service to the AHL. Entering his 27th year with the HERSHEY BEARS organization, Yingst has been general manager of the team for two Calder Cup championships, including the team's most recent triumph in 2006. Boudreau, HERSHEY'S former head coach and a current resident of Dauphin County, was named the National Hockey League's 2007-08 Coach of the Year this past June. He was named head coach of the Washington Capitals on November 22, guiding the team to a 37-17-7 record and a Southeast Division championship. The ceremony will begin at 10 a.m. at the Dauphin County Administration Building, next to the county courthouse. The event is free and open to the public. Both Yingst and Boudreau will be honored by the county commissioners for their contributions and achievements. The American Hockey League is expected to release the 2008-09 schedule of games later this summer, with HERSHEY slated to play 20 different opponents.
