The
Hershey Bears were well represented at the 2020 AHL All-Star Skills Competition in Ontario, California on Sunday evening. Forward Matt Moulson and goaltender Vitek Vanecek participated in the event, as the Western Conference edged the Eastern Conference, 18-15.
Vanecek tied for the CCM Top Goaltender award with Connor Ingram of the Milwaukee Admirals and Alex Nedeljkovic of the Charlotte Checkers, as each netminder made 14 saves apiece. Vanecek showed some flair, stopping a shot in the Breakaway Relay with an old-school two-pad stack.
Moulson recieved a large obvation when announced at the Toyota Arena. The Eastern Conference playing captain skated parts of two seasons for the hometown Ontario Reign before signing with the Bears this summer. Moulson particpated in several events including Accuracy Shooting where he hit three targets.
Both Moulson and Vanecek will represent the Atlantic Division in Monday's 2020 AHL All-Star Challenge, a round-robin tournament among the league’s four divisions played at 3-on-3. The All-Star Challenge will air at 10 p.m. Eastern live across the United States on NHL Network, across Canada on TSN2 and on the internet at AHLTV.
