Capitals Recall Justin Holl from Hershey

The Washington Capitals, the National Hockey League parent club of the Hershey Bears, announced that defenseman Justin Holl has been recalled from Hershey. The announcement was made by Washington senior vice president and general manager Chris Patrick.
Holl, 34, has appeared in three games with the Bears this season. He made his Hershey debut on Oct. 3 vs. Charlotte.
The 6’4”, 205-pound defenseman recorded two points (1g, 1a) in nine games with the St. Louis Blues last season. Holl is a nine-year NHL veteran and has recorded 97 points (14g, 83a) in 405 career games with St. Louis, the Detroit Red Wings, and Toronto Maple Leafs. During his time with Toronto in 2021-23, he was coached by current Capitals bench boss Spencer Carbery who worked as an assistant coach with the Maple Leafs.
Originally drafted by the Chicago Blackhawks in the second round (54th overall) of the 2010 NHL Draft, Holl has appeared in 238 career AHL games with Rockford, Toronto, Grand Rapids, and Hershey, collecting 82 points (22g, 60a).
The Bears continue a seven-game homestand to begin the 2026-27 season, presented by Penn State Health, when they face the Providence Bruins for Penn State Health Pink the Rink Night on Saturday, Oct. 17 at 6 p.m. at GIANT Center.
