Capitals Loan Holl to Hershey

The Washington Capitals, the National Hockey League parent club of the Hershey Bears, announced that defenseman Justin Holl has been loaned to Hershey. The announcement was made by Washington senior vice president and general manager Chris Patrick.
Holl, 34, played in three games with the Capitals during his recall, scoring two goals. Holl became the first defenseman in franchise history to score in each of his first two games with the team. Holl also scored in his first two games with the Toronto Maple Leafs in 2017-18, becoming the first defenseman in NHL history to score a goal in each of his first two regular-season games with multiple franchises.
He has also appeared in three games with the Bears this season.
The 6’4”, 205-pound defenseman recorded two points (1g, 1a) in nine games with the St. Louis Blues last season. Holl is a nine-year NHL veteran and has recorded 99 points (16g, 83a) in 408 career games with St. Louis, the Detroit Red Wings, and Toronto Maple Leafs. During his time with Toronto in 2021-23, he was coached by current Capitals bench boss Spencer Carbery who worked as an assistant coach with the Maple Leafs.
Originally drafted by the Chicago Blackhawks in the second round (54th overall) of the 2010 NHL Draft, Holl has appeared in 238 career AHL games with Rockford, Toronto, Grand Rapids, and Hershey, collecting 82 points (22g, 60a).
The Bears continue a seven-game homestand to begin the 2026-27 season, presented by Penn State Health, when they face the Bruins today at 3 p.m. at GIANT Center for Reese’s Trick-or-Treat Night. All fans 15 and under will receive a Trick-or-Treat bag upon entry and have the opportunity to trick-or-treat around the concourse during pre-game and the first intermission. Hershey will also host Bears Brunch, with specialty brunch offerings available at select locations on the concourse. CLICK HERE to purchase tickets for this game via Ticketmaster.
