The Washington Capitals, National Hockey League affiliate of the Hershey Bears, have announced that they have re-assigned forwards Tyler Kopff and Ludwig Persson to the South Carolina Stingrays of the ECHL. Additionally, Hershey has loaned forward Jalen Luypen to South Carolina.

Kopff, 23, was originally acquired by the Capitals from the Buffalo Sabres on July 13 in exchange for Zac Funk. Kopff posted five points (1g, 4a) in 30 games with the American Hockey League’s Rochester Americans during the 2025-26 season and added six points (2g, 4a) in 10 ECHL contests with the Jacksonville Icemen.

Persson, 23, registered one assist in seven games with the Bears last season, and contributed 23 points (9g, 14a) in 41 ECHL matches with South Carolina.

Luypen, 24, recorded one goal in two contests with the Bears last season, in addition to six points (4g, 2a) in 22 contests with the Tucson Roadrunners, and added 37 points (14g, 23a) in 35 ECHL outings with South Carolina.

The Bears continue a seven-game homestand to begin the 2026-27 season, presented by Penn State Health, when they host the Texas Stars for the first time in their regular-season history as Hershey celebrates B-E-A-R-Sapalooza Country Night on Saturday, Oct. 10 at 7 p.m. at GIANT Center. The first 6,000 fans in attendance will receive a straw cowboy hat, courtesy of Pepsi. CLICK HERE to purchase tickets for this game via Ticketmaster.
