The Hershey Bears (5-2-0-0) rallied from a 2-0 deficit with five straight goals to wrap up a seven-game homestand with a 5-2 win over the Belleville Senators (4-3-2-0) on Saturday night at GIANT Center.

BOX SCORE

NOTABLES:

  • The Senators took a 1-0 lead with a power-play goal at 4:49 of the first from Philippe Daoust on a redirect that resulted from their first shot on goal of the evening. Phil Tomasino made it 2-0 for Belleville at 6:35 of the second period.
  • Spencer Smallman ignited the comeback when he netted his second of the season at 14:02 of the second period to cut Belleville’s lead in half after taking a centering feed from Theodor Niederbach and redirecting it up and over Jackson Parson’s shoulder before the puck bounced into the net. Smallman later set up Lynden Lakovic’s game-winning goal at the eight-minute mark of the third period after knocking down a Belleville clearing attempt out of midair and dishing it off to the rookie at the side of the net for the one-timer.
  • Joey Anderson tied the score at 2-2 with his second of the season at 5:19 of the third period, and later added an empty-net marker at 18:01. The forward now has a three-game point streak (3g, 1a).
  • Grant Cruikshank capped the scoring with an additional empty-net marker at 19:52 for his second of the season, to go along with an assist on Anderson’s empty-net strike.
  • Ryan Chesley had two assists for the second multi-assist game of his career.
  • Cal Petersen made 16 saves to pick up his third consecutive win.
  • Hershey’s four goals in the third period represented a new season high for goals in an individual frame. The team’s 39 shots also represented a new season high.
  • The victory snapped a three-game winless streak against Belleville for the Bears that dated back to the 2025-26 season, while simultaneously ending a three-game winless streak on home ice against the Senators dating back to the 2024-25 campaign.
