Bears Announce Updates to 2026 Training Camp Roster

Following the addition of several players from the club’s NHL affiliate, the Washington Capitals, the Hershey Bears have updated the 2026 Training Camp Roster.

Since the announcement of Hershey’s initial 2026 Training Camp roster last week, the following players have joined the Bears from Washington:

Forwards: Jonny Brodzinski, Andrew Cristall, Josh Dunne, Tyler Kopff, Lynden Lakovic, Eriks Mateiko, Theodor Niederbach, Terik Parascak, Ludwig Persson, Petr Sikora, Spencer Smallman, Alex Suzdalev, Bogdan Trineyev 

Defensemen: Cam Allen, Louie Belpedio, Ryan Chesley, David Gucciardi, Justin Holl, Jacob MacDonald, Jon McDonald, Leon Muggli

Goalies: Mitch Gibson, Cal Petersen

Petersen, a veteran of 248 AHL games and 106 NHL games, has signed a professional tryout agreement (PTO) with Hershey. Goaltender Clay Stevenson was also placed on waivers by the Capitals for assignment to Hershey, but the Winnipeg Jets claimed him today. 

With the numerous additions of key returners, new faces, and top Washington Capitals draft picks, Hershey has also reduced its 2026 Training Camp roster, sending 14 players to the ECHL. 

The following players on American Hockey League contracts with Hershey have been loaned to the club's ECHL affiliate, the South Carolina Stingrays:

-Ben Kraws, G
-Landon McCallum, F
-Cam Morrison, F
-Rhett Parsons, D

The following players have been released from their tryout agreements and will report to South Carolina: 

-Aidan Hreschuk, D
-Josh Prokop, F
-Ryan Sandelin, F

The following players have been released from their tryout agreements and will report to their respective ECHL clubs: 

-Nick Andrews, D (Toledo)
-Miles Gendron, D (Reading)
-Jaxson Murray, F (Greensboro)

The club will announce its Opening Night roster on Friday, Oct. 2.
