Capitals Recall Ness and Siegenthaler

The Washington Capitals announced today that defenders Aaron Ness and Jonas Siegenthaler have been recalled from the Hershey Bears. The announcement was made by Washington senior vice president and general manager Brian MacLellan,

Ness, 28, has appeared in 12 games with Hershey this season, collecting four assists. The Hershey alternate captain scored the shootout winning goal in last Sunday's win versus Hartford. This is Ness' second recall to Washington this season. The native of Roseau, Minn. opened the 2017-18 season with the Capitals, recording one assist in eight games. He has played in 18 games with the Capitals over the past three seasons, compiling three assists. Ness, a second round selection of the Islanders in the 2008 NHL draft, has appeared in 47 NHL games, scoring six points (one goal, five assists).

Siegenthaler, 21, has been recalled to Washington for the first time in his career. The native of Zurich, Switzerland had two assists in 14 games this season with the Chocolate and White. Siegenthaler, a 2015 second round selection of Washington, has played in 102 career games with Hershey, scoring 15 points (six goals, nine assists) to go along with 85 penalty minutes.

The Bears return to action on Saturday as they host the Springfield Thunderbirds at Giant Center for Hometown Heroes Night. All fans will receive an American Flag upon entrance, courtesy of United Brotherhood of Carpenters Local 431. Ticket information is available at HersheyBears.com.
