McGauley Re-Assigned to Bears

The Hershey Bears announced today that forward Tim McGauley has been reassigned to Hershey from the club's ECHL affiliate, the South Carolina Stingrays. The move was announced by Hershey's Vice President of Hockey Operations, Bryan Helmer.McGauley, 22, has collected 36 points (13 goals, 23 assists) and a plus/minus of +9 in 48 games with South Carolina this season. He ranks second on the Stingrays in assists, and is third on the club in goals and points. He has posted 11 multi-point games, and has tallied five points (three goals, two assists) over his past four games.
The 6-foot, 188-pound center has scored 53 points (17 goals, 36 assists) in 87 career games with South Carolina. McGauley signed a three-year, entry-level contract with the Washington Capitals on Oct. 5, 2015 after participating in the team’s rookie tournament and 2015 training camp as an undrafted invitee.
The native of Wilcox, Saskatchewan enjoyed an exceptional junior career with the Brandon Wheat Kings of the WHL. In 276 career games with Brandon, McGauley scored 259 points (102 goals, 157 assists) over parts of five seasons. Despite missing time due to injury in 2015-16, McGauley served as an alternate captain with Brandon and led the Wheat Kings to a WHL Championship.
McGauley has joined the Bears ahead of this weekend's games and will practice with the club today. He is expected to wear #39.
The Bears return to the ice on Friday, March 2. It's the sixth and final time the Bears will visit the PPL Center this season in a match up against the Lehigh Valley Phantoms.
