Ness, Barber Re-Assigned to Bears

(Hershey, PA- February 26, 2017)- The Washington Capitals have re-assigned forward Riley Barber and defenseman Aaron Ness to the Hershey Bears hockey team. Both players are expected to join Hershey for today's game in Bridgeport.Barber, 23, made his NHL and Capitals debut on Feb. 24 against Edmonton and played in two games with Washington during his recall. Barber has recorded 11 points (seven goals, four assists) in 18 games with Hershey this season. The forward has notched three goals, including two against Bridgeport, after missing 35 games with with an upper-body injury. Last season, Barber registered 55 points (26 goals, 29 assists) in 74 games with Hershey and ranked second among AHL rookies in goals and tied for fourth in points. The Pittsburgh native was named Hershey's 2015-16 Rookie of the Year. He has tallied 66 points (33 goals, 33 assists) in 92 career games with Hershey.
Ness, 26, played in two games with Washington during his recall. He has recorded five points (one goal, four assists) in 39 career NHL games with the New York Islanders and Washington. The Roseau, Minnesota native has registered 16 points (five goals, 11 assists) in 41 games with Hershey this season and ranks second among Bears defensemen in points. The veteran defender has registered 166 points (34 goals, 132 assists) in 383 career AHL games with Bridgeport and Hershey.
Hershey finishes the weekend versus the Sound Tigers at Webster Bank Arena at 3 p.m. today. The Bears enter the contest trailing Bridgeport by just one point in the standings. The game may be heard on the Bears Radio Network and viewed on AHL Live.
