Boyd Re-Assigned to Hershey

(Hershey, PA- February 23, 2017)-The Washington Capitals have announced the re-assignment of forward Travis Boyd to the Hershey Bears hockey team. 

Boyd, 23, has enjoyed a standout season for Hershey, ranking second on the club in points (43), sixth on the team in goals (11), and first on the team in assists (32). He was named to the 2017 AHL All-Star Classic, and scored three points (two goals, one assist) at the All-Star Challenge. Boyd was a sixth round selection of the Capitals in the 2011 NHL Draft. 

The native of Hopkins, Minnesota has scored 98 points (33 goals, 65 assists) in 131 career games with Hershey. He posted nine points (two goals, seven assists) in 21 playoff games during Hershey’s run to the Calder Cup Finals in 2016. He tallied the Game 7, overtime winning goal in the Atlantic Division Finals versus Wilkes-Barre/Scranton on May 15, 2016. 

The Bears visit Hartford on Friday. Hershey returns to home ice on Saturday to host the Toronto Marlies at 7 p.m. That evening is Ames Janitorial Services Rally Towel Night and Banking/Finance Night. Ticket information is available at HersheyBears.com.
