(Hershey, PA- January 24, 2017)-The Washington Capitals have announced the recall of forward Chandler Stephenson from the
Hershey Bears.
Stephenson, 22, has appeared in 39 games with Hershey this season, registering 24 points (six goals, 18 assists) to go along with 28 penalty minutes. His 18 assists are fourth on the club, and he ranks fifth on the team in points. In 141 career AHL games with Hershey, Stephenson has scored 67 points (21 goals, 46 assists).
This is the second recall to Washington this season for the Saskatoon native. Stephenson skated in nine games with the Capitals during the 2015-16 season, making his NHL debut on Oct. 15, 2015 in Washington’s 4-1 win over Chicago.
Hershey is on the road for four straight games, including three this week. On Wednesday night, Hershey visits the XL Center to battle the Hartford Wolf Pack. The puck drops at 7 p.m. and the game may be heard on the Bears Radio Network.
