HERSHEY, Pa. – The
Hershey Bears announced today that the club has signed forward Domenic Monardo to a professional tryout agreement. The announcement was made by Bears President/General Manager Doug Yingst.
Monardo, 27, spent the entire 2015-16 regular season with the Springfield Falcons, where he posted 13 points (eight goals, five assists) in 44 games. He also dressed in 43 games for the Falcons in 2014-15, adding 14 points (10 goals, four assists).
The ECHL’s Reading Royals were in their final year of affiliation with the Bears in 2013-14 and Monardo was a key member of the squad. Starting the season in Hershey’s training camp, Monardo went on to record 46 points (27 goals, 19 assists) in 70 games, finishing as the Royals’ leading goal scorer while ranking third in points, games played and penalty minutes (62).
Monardo has played a total of 76 ECHL games with Reading and Gwinnett. Prior to turning pro, Monardo played four years of college hockey at Lake Superior State University (CCHA), amassing 101 points (49 goals, 52 assists) in 153 games.
