WOLF PACK EVEN SERIES WITH 3-1 WIN

May 12, 2015

WORCESTER, Mass. – Jon Landry scored in the third period for the Hershey Bears, but a three-point night from forward Oscar Lindberg paced the Hartford Wolf Pack to a 3-1 victory in Game Four of the Eastern Conference semifinals on Monday night at DCU Center.

After the second Hershey penalty kill of the opening period, Hartford would finally solve Philipp Grubauer when Lindberg threw a shot on goal from the right circle.  Joey Crabb deflected the puck into the net while cruising through the slot at 16:11 for a 1-0 Wolf Pack lead.

Lindberg made it 2-0 just six seconds into Hartford’s fifth power play of the night.  After a Chris Mueller faceoff win came to Chris Bourque, Lindberg set up near the right hash marks and ripped a one-timer fed from Bourque into the upper-right corner of the net at 8:45 of the second period.

Lindberg later sprung Ryan Haggerty on a breakaway, and the forward slipped a shot through Grubauer at 13:09 for a 3-0 advantage.

Grubauer – who gave the Bears a chance the entire night – came up big again at 10:25 of the third.  Crabb would be hooked by Steve Oleksy on a short break-in from the slot, and was awarded a penalty shot.  Grubauer waited patiently and snared Crabb’s chance in his glove.

Landry would finally get Hershey on the board at the 12:02 mark.  Pinching in from the left point, he snuck into the bottom of the left circle and slapped a pass from Chandler Stephenson behind Wolf Pack goaltender Yann Danis.  The goal was Landry’s first Calder Cup playoff tally.

The Bears would pull Grubauer for a sixth attacker inside the final minute but the Wolf Pack hung on for the win.

Grubauer saw his record even out at 2-2 with a 29-save effort on 32 Hartford shots.  Danis improved to 5-4 in the postseason, stopping 22 of 23.

The Bears return home to host the Wolf Pack in Game Five of the conference semifinal series on Wednesday, May 13 with puck drop set for 7:00 PM.  Individual tickets for this game (Game “EE”) are on sale at the GIANT Center box office, by calling (717) 508-BEAR or online at TicketMaster.com.
