HERSHEY, Pa.– The HERSHEY BEARS announced today that the club has signed defenseman Connor Carrick to an amateur tryout agreement.  The announcement was made by BEARS President/GM Doug Yingst.

Carrick also added 18 points (two goals, 16 assists) in 15 playoff games with the Whalers, leading all defensemen and ranking third overall on the squad.  Plymouth advanced to the OHL’s Western Conference finals but fell to the London Knights, the team guided by former Washington Capitals head coach Dale Hunter.

The 5-10, 183-pound native of Orland Park, Illinois spent the two previous years with the United States National Team Development Program, where he won a gold medal at the 2012 Under-18 World Junior Championships and the silver medal at the 2011 Under-17 World Hockey Challenge.

Carrick was originally selected by the Capitals in the fifth round (137th overall) of the 2012 NHL Entry Draft.
