BEARS CONCLUDE PRESEASON WITH 3-2 WIN OVER TIGERS

10/03/2010 - The BEARS wrapped up the preseason with a 3-2 win over the Bridgeport Sound Tigers at Giant Center Sunday. Zach Miskovic led a 13-shot attack in the first period by scoring his second goal of the preseason at the 3:47 mark. Josh Godfrey and Keith Aucoin provided assists, and the BEARS took a 1-0 lead into first intermission. Goaltender Todd Ford had to make just six saves in the first period, while Bridgeport's Joel Martin stopped 12 of 13. The second period was nearly a carbon copy of the first, with Miskovic scoring a goal and the Bears getting the majority of shots. The goal came midway through the second period at 12:48, from Ashton Rome and Kyle Greentree. Bridgeport managed just two shots in the entire period, making light work for Ford in his final preseason appearance. With the BEARS up a pair in the third period, Ashton Rome chopped home his first goal of the preseason midway through the frame to lift the home team to a 3-0 lead. The Sound Tigers took nearly 57 minutes to solve Ford, but they picked up their first goal at 16:55 of the third period when Anton Kharin scored in front of the net. Bridgeport then made things interesting with a second goal just seconds later by Tony Romano, but the Tigers would get no closer. Ford won his first game of the preseason with the victory, and HERSHEY finished the preseason at 2-0-0-1. BEARS Radio Network Three Stars of the game: 1. Zach Miskovic (Two goals) 2.
