BEARS SIGN THREE MORE FOR 2010-11 TITLE DEFENSE

THE RELOAD CONTINUES: BEARS SIGN THREE MORE FOR UPCOMING 2010-11 CAMPAIGN
ASHTON ROME BACK IN THE CHOCOLATE AND WHITE NEXT SEASON, RUGGED FORWARD JOEL RECHLICZ COMES TO CENTRAL PA, GOALTENDER TODD FORD SIGNS AS WELL
HERSHEY – The 2010 Calder Cup Champion HERSHEY BEARS announced today that the club has signed right wings Ashton Rome and Joel Rechlicz, as well as goaltender Todd Ford to American Hockey League contracts for 2010-11. The announcement was made today by BEARS President/GM Doug Yingst.
Rome, 24, was signed by HERSHEY to a player tryout contract back in March of this year. He scored three goals in ten games played during the regular season, and also played in 16 postseason games, helping the BEARS to a Calder Cup title. In addition to his time in the Chocolate and White, Rome has previously skated in the AHL with the Worcester Sharks and Toronto Marlies. He was drafted in the fifth round, 143rd overall, in the 2006 NHL Entry Draft by San Jose.
Rechlicz, 23, (pronounced RECK-lish) stands in at 6'4", 220 lbs, and brings 23 games of NHL experience to HERSHEY. He accumulated 128 penalty minutes in just 21 games last season while playing for Bridgeport (AHL), and he also saw action in six games for the New York Islanders in 2009-10.
Ford, 26, played in 29 games last season for South Carolina (ECHL), posting an 18-7-2 record and a 2.79 goals against average. He also saw 12 games of action for Texas (AHL), and three games with Portland (AHL).
