August 3, 2015

HERSHEY, Pa. – The Hershey Bears announced today that the club has signed forward Maxime Sauve to a one-year contract for the 2015-16 season.  The announcement was made by Bears president/general manager Doug Yingst.

Sauve, 25, returns to North America after spending last season with the DEL’s Cologne Sharks.  Sauve recorded nine points (three goals, six assists) in 27 regular-season games.

The 6-2, 184-pound native of Tours, France played the 2013-14 season with the AHL’s Norfolk Admirals.  In 47 games, Sauve notched 14 points (six goals, eight assists) and scored two goals in seven Calder Cup playoff contests.

Sauve has appeared in 213 career regular-season games in the American Hockey League, most of which came with the Providence Bruins.  He notched 44 goals and 45 assists for 89 points during parts of four seasons in Rhode Island, and has totaled 106 points (51 goals, 55 assists) in his AHL career with Providence, Rockford and Norfolk.

Prior to turning pro, Sauve played five seasons of junior hockey in the QMJHL with the Quebec Remparts and Val d’Or Foreurs.  He amassed 192 points (76 goals, 116 assists) in his 219-game junior career, and won a gold medal with Team Canada at the 2008 U18 World Junior Championships.

Sauve was originally selected by the Boston Bruins in the second round (47th overall) of the 2008 NHL Entry Draft.
