Jay Rosehill opened and closed the first period scoring with his fourth and fifth goals of the season. Sandwiched in, Dane Byers finished a 2-on-0 breakaway for the Bears' second shorthanded goal in as many periods to tie the game 1-1.The two teams continued to trade blows into the second period. Stan Galiev scored in the opening minute to tie the game at 2-2. Nick Cousins gave the Phantoms their third lead of the night at the 11:08 mark. However late in the frame, Tomas Kundratek answered on a transition goal to knot the game at 3-3 heading into second intermission.
Both clubs tallied in the third period, sending the game to overtime. Kevin Goumas scored the overtime game-winner at 2:40 to lift Lehigh Valley over Hershey. The Bears extend their point streak to 10 consecutive games.
