BEARS ANNOUNCE 2014 TRAINING CAMP SCHEDULE

HERSHEY, Pa. – The Hershey Bears announced today the complete schedule comprising the club’s 2014 training camp. The announcement was made by Bears President/GM Doug Yingst.Players will report for an introductory meeting on Sunday, September 28 and begin with their first on-ice session Monday, September 29 at 9:30 AM. Following two days of practice, the Bears will take to the road on Wednesday, October 1 to play the Lehigh Valley Phantoms at the brand-new PPL Center, thus kicking off the club’s four-game pre-season slate. The Bears and Phantoms will rematch at GIANT Center on Friday, October 3 in a 7:00 PM matchup. Camp concludes with a home-and-home pair of games against the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins. The two rivals clash at Mohegan Sun Arena at Casey Plaza on Saturday, October 4 at 7:05 PM, and at GIANT Center on Sunday, October 5 at 5:00 PM.
Tickets for both home pre-season contests are on sale now at the GIANT Center box office, by calling (717) 508-BEAR, or online at TicketMaster.com. Individual tickets for all regular-season home games will go on sale this Thursday, September 25 beginning at 10:00 AM via the above outlets.
The 2014 training camp includes on-ice practice sessions, off-ice workouts, fitness testing, video, group meetings and the four-game pre-season slate. All on-ice practices are tentatively scheduled to be held at GIANT Center.
Head coach Troy Mann, assistant coaches Bryan Helmer and Ryan Murphy, and players will be available in the interview room following the last practice scheduled on each day.
All practice sessions – during training camp and regular season – are free and open to the public, with the exception of the days comprising Tuesday, October 7 through Friday, October 10. These practice sessions will be closed to the public due to the AACA Antique Auto Show taking place on the complex property.
The complete training camp schedule follows, with all times and locations subject to change. The Bears’ training camp roster will be released in the coming days.
