Of the 70 players scheduled for camp, 23 (12 forwards, nine defensemen, two goaltenders) donned the Chocolate and White at least once during the 2012-13 campaign.

FORWARDS: Dane Byers, Nicolas Deschamps, Stanislav Galiev, Michael Latta, Peter LeBlanc, Garrett Mitchell, Joel Rechlicz, Ryan Stoa, T.J. Syner, Jeff Taffe, Casey Wellman, Tom Wilson

DEFENSEMEN: Julien Brouillette, Brett Flemming, Chay Genoway, Tomas Kundratek, Dmitry Orlov, Steve Oleksy, Cameron Schilling, Nate Schmidt, Patrick Wellar

GOALTENDERS: Philipp Grubauer, Braden Holtby (Brandon Anderson dressed as backup but did not see game action)

Eight of these 23 (Byers, Deschamps, Genoway, Latta, LeBlanc, Rechlicz, Wellman, Wilson) were either acquired mid-season or joined the squad for the Calder Cup playoffs.  Additionally, four players (Grubauer, Oleksy, Schilling, Wilson) made their NHL debuts with the Capitals last season.

Newly-signed players expected to provide organizational depth include forwards Jamie Johnson, Brandon Segal, Matt Watkins and Derek Whitmore; defensemen Michal Cajkovsky, David Kolomatis, Tyson Strachan and Patrick Wey; and goaltenders Riley Gill and David Leggio.
