The BEARS are in Connecticut Saturday, looking to take a commanding 3-0 series lead over the Bridgeport Sound Tigers. Game 3 of the best-of-seven East Division Semi-Final is at 7:00 p.m. Saturday at the Arena at Harbor Yard.
HERSHEY took a 2-0 series lead Friday, rallying in the third period to post a 3-2 regulation win. Alexandre Giroux was named the game’s number one star, scoring two goals. Michal Neuvirth returned to the net Friday and earned his first postseason win since Game 6 of the 2009 Calder Cup Finals in Winnipeg. The win marked the second time in two postseason games that the BEARS rallied to win when trailing after two periods.
It’s a busy Saturday around the 2010 Calder Cup playoffs, with six other games dotting the schedule. Manitoba and Hamilton play Game 2 of their best-of-seven North Division Semi-Final, with the Bulldogs leading the series one game to none. Manchester looks to go up 2-0 on Portland on the road at the Cumberland County Civic Center in Maine on Saturday in one Atlantic Division Semi-Final. Worcester and Lowell face off in Game 3 in the other Atlantic Semi, with the series tied at one game apiece. Abbotsford looks to pick up a second road win in its North Division Semi-Final in Rochester. Game two of that series is at Blue Cross Arena Saturday, with the Heat already up one game to none. Chicago also looks to go up 3-0 quickly in its best-of-seven with Milwaukee in the West Division Semis. The series shifts to the Bradley Center in Wisconsin Saturday. Texas, leading Rockford one game to none in the other West Semi-Final, hosts the IceHogs in Austin Saturday night.
