The BEARS wrap up three games in three days in New England Sunday, visiting the Worcester Sharks at the DCU Center. Face-off is at 4:05 p.m.
HERSHEY with a single standings point gained on Sunday, or not gained by the Albany River Rats will clinch the 2009-10 East Division championship. The BEARS gained a point on Saturday, but fell to the Springfield Falcons 5-4 in a shootout at Mass Mutual Center. While the BEARS are in Worcester Sunday, Albany is home against the Syracuse Crunch at Times Union Center.
The game on Sunday for the Chocolate and White is also the third game of a four-game road trip. HERSHEY concludes the trek Wednesday with a road game in Binghamton against the Senators.
Sunday’s game is the first of two meetings this season between the BEARS and Sharks, with Worcester coming to visit
Giant Center on Friday, March 26. The Sharks lead the Atlantic Division standings heading into the final four weeks of the regular season.
Forward Mathieu Perreault missed Saturday’s game due to injury, and defenseman Dylan Yeo left the game in the second period due to an upper body injury. Both are listed as day-to-day and questionable for Sunday’s game against the Sharks. Goaltender Michal Neuvirth is expected to draw the start Sunday in Massachusetts.
Sunday’s game can be heard via the BEARS Radio Network (100.1 FM and www.Sportsjuice.com) beginning at 3:45 p.m. John Walton calls the play-by-play from downtown Worcester.
