BUSY WEEK CONTINUES SUNDAY IN THE W-B

February 28, 2010

The BEARS conclude a stretch of four games in five nights Sunday, taking on the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins at Mohegan Sun Arena. Face-off is at 1:05 p.m. The game of Sunday’s game changed to 1:05 p.m. in deference to Team USA’s gold medal game against Canada that will begin at 3:00 p.m. The quick turnaround for HERSHEY caps off a strange week that saw the team play a game at 10:45 a.m. game on Wednesday, coupled with an overnight bus ride from Toronto Thursday into Friday delayed by snow. Despite strange game times and rough travel, the BEARS came out flying Saturday, blasting the Bridgeport Sound Tigers 9-2. Mathieu Perreault scored four goals to pace the offense, and Steve Pinizzotto enjoyed the best offensive night of his professional career with four assists. The line of Andrew Gordon, Keith Aucoin and Alexandre Giroux combined for 11 points, and the BEARS scored nine times before the second period came to a close. Wilkes-Barre/Scranton posted a 5-1 win on Saturday over the Providence Bruins at Mohegan Sun Arena. Chris Conner recorded a hat trick to pace the Pens to the victory. Wilkes-Barre begins play Sunday 30 points behind HERSHEY in the East Division standings. Sunday’s game can be heard via the BEARS Radio Network (100.1 FM and www.Sportsjuice.com) beginning at 12:45 p.m. John Walton has the call of the action from Wilkes-Barre Township.
