The BEARS look to make it two road wins in as many days Thursday, taking on the Toronto Marlies at Ricoh Coliseum. Face-off is at 7:00 p.m.
Thursday will be HERSHEY’S final game north of the border this season, against a team they defeated 5-1 back on December 20 at
Giant Center. The BEARS enter the game Thursday with the American Hockey League’s best record a 44-11-0-2, and a season high 24-point lead over second place Albany.
Only two other games dot the AHL schedule on Thursday. The Manitoba Moose are in Houston to play the Aeros at Toyota Center, and the Rockford IceHogs visit the Milwaukee Admirals at the Bradley Center in Wisconsin. Every other team other than HERSHEY in the East Division has the night off.
Braden Holtby is expected to draw the start after Jason Bacashihua has run off three straight victories in as many games. Bacashihua defeated his former team, Lake Erie, twice in five days, including a 3-2 shootout win Wednesday at Quicken Loans Arena in Cleveland.
The BEARS enter play on Thursday 27-3-0-0 in the team’s last 30 games, and just eight wins short of establishing a new franchise record for most wins in a single season. HERSHEY has 23 regular season games remaining.
Thursday’s game can be heard via the BEARS Radio Network (100.1 FM and www.Sportsjuice.com) beginning at 6:40 p.m. John Walton has the call of the action from Ricoh Coliseum.
