BEARS HOST DEVILS SUNDAY FOR VALENTINE'S DAY

February 13, 2010

One night after having an 11-game winning streak snapped, the BEARS wrap up three games in three nights at home against the Lowell Devils. HERSHEY looks to sweep the two game season series against the Devils in a 5:00 p.m. start. The Penguins scored three times in the first period and never looked back in a 5-0 win over the BEARS Saturday night at Mohegan Sun Arena. Goaltender Braden Holtby suffered the loss, making 15 saves. The setback was just the second loss in 25 games for HERSHEY, who even with the loss still leads second place Albany by 20 points in the East Division standings. The BEARS, even in defeat, still have a 7-2-0-0 record this season against Wilkes-Barre/Scranton. Sunday’s game with Lowell marks the return of Louis Robitaille to Giant Center for the first time since his departure from central PA after the 2007-08 season. Robitaille ranks sixth all-time in HERSHEY franchise history with 928 penalty minutes, trailing only Mike Stothers, Larry Zeidel, Ralph Keller, Jay Johnston and current Binghamton Senators head coach Don Nachbaur. Robitaille currently ranks second in the AHL this season in penalty minutes to another former BEAR, Kip Brennan of Springfield. The Devils are in a dogfight for playoff positioning at the top of the Atlantic Division with Manchester and Worcester. All three teams began the weekend within two points of one another in the top three spots. Goaltender Jeff Frazee started against the BEARS back on November 4 and allowed five goals to take the loss at Paul Tsongas Arena. Sunday’s game can be heard via the BEARS Radio Network (100.1 FM and www.Sportsjuice.com) beginning at 4:40 p.m. John Walton, Ed Coffey and Jim Jones have the call of the action from Giant Center.
