BEARS IN SEARCH OF WIN NUMBER 40 FRIDAY NIGHT

February 11, 2010

Winners of 22 of its last 23 games, the BEARS take to the road Friday night, taking on the second place Albany River Rats in New York’s Capital District. Face-off is set for 7:00 p.m. HERSHEY seeks its 40th win of the season, and also looks to increase its lead over second place Albany to a season-high 22 points with a regulation victory. But the Chocolate and White will not be at full strength after three separate roster moves on Thursday. Left wing Chris Bourque and defenseman Karl Alzner were both recalled Thursday to Washington. To replace Bourque on the active roster, HERSHEY recalled forward Michael Dubuc Thursday from South Carolina (ECHL). The BEARS have won three out of five games against Albany this season, including a 10-4 win over the River Rats back on January 15 at Times Union Center. HERSHEY has outscored Albany 18-7 over the last two games played, one at each team’s home arena. The game is the beginning of a stretch of three games in as many nights for the Chocolate and White. The BEARS will travel to Wilkes-Barre/Scranton to face the Penguins Saturday night at 7:05 p.m., and host the Lowell Devils for the only time this season at 5:00 p.m. Sunday. Former BEARS penalty minute leader Louis Robitaille is expected to play for Lowell, his first appearance against the BEARS since donning a Chocolate sweater from 2005-2008. Tickets for Sunday’s game are on sale now at the Giant Center box office, or by calling (717) 534-3911. Friday’s game can be heard via the BEARS Radio Network (100.1 FM and www.Sportsjuice.com) beginning at 6:40 p.m. John Walton has the call from New York’s Capital District.
