Capitals Assign Keith Aucoin, Alexandre Giroux to Hershey
ARLINGTON, Va. â" The Washington Capitals have assigned center Keith Aucoin and left wing Alexandre Giroux to the
Hershey Bears of the American Hockey League (AHL), vice president and general manager George McPhee announced today.
Aucoin, 31, is a ninth-year pro who played one game for Washington in his third recall of the season. The Waltham, Mass., native has one goal and four assists in nine games with Washington this season. The 5â™9â, 162-pound Aucoin has 24 points (nine goals, 15 assists) and is a +10 in 19 games with Hershey this season. He ranks tied for seventh in the AHL in scoring, third on the Bears.
Giroux (jhi-ROO), 28, played six games for Washington registering two assists and a +2 in his second recall of the season. Giroux, a native of Quebec City, played three games with Washington in October registering a goal. Before being recalled to Washington on Nov. 27 the 6â™3â, 202-pound ninth-year pro ranked second in the AHL with 27 points (10 goals, 17 assists) in 16 games with the Bears. He has nine multiple-point games including five with three or more points.
