BEARS POST ANOTHER ROAD WIN FRIDAY IN BINGHAMTON

November 20, 2009

The BEARS scored early and often Friday in a 5-2 win over the Binghamton Senators at Broome County Veterans Memorial Arena. Boyd Kane got the scoring underway early Friday with his fifth goal of the season. The tally came at 1:38 of the first from Alexandre Giroux and Keith Aucoin to give the visitors from Chocolatetown a 1-0 lead after one. Aided by a couple of first period power plays, Binghamton outshot the Bears 13-4 in the first 20 minutes. HERSHEY scored three times in the second period and never looked back on Friday. Giroux scored his ninth goal of the season just 1:32 into the second to make the score 2-0. Andrew Gordon then picked up his eighth of the campaign at 5:03 from Giroux and Aucoin to increase HERSHEY’S lead to 3-0. In a goal that won’t likely be forgotten by Trevor Bruess, the rookie scored his first AHL goal at the 15:58 mark of the second to continue to pile on the homestanding Senators. Ryan Keller and Martin St. Pierre would add third period goals to break up Jason Bacashihua’s shutout bid, and Kyle Wilson scored a third period goal for the BEARS to round out the scoring. The Chocolate and White have won nine of its last 10 games, hosting Springfield Saturday night at GIANT Center. HERSHEY also won its league leading eighth road game of the season Friday.
