BEARS HOST PENGUINS SATURDAY NIGHT

November 14, 2009

HERSHEY concludes a two-game home weekend Saturday night, and renews the I-81 rivalry in the process, hosting the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins at 7:00 p.m. Keith Aucoin was named the game’s number one star, and five different players recorded goals Friday as HERSHEY defeated the Norfolk Admirals 5-3. Alexandre Giroux, Andrew Joudrey, Oskar Osala and Steve Pinizzotto all recorded goals, and Michal Neuvirth earned his team-leading fifth win of the season, making 26 saves. The loss for Norfolk was the team’s first on the road in five games. The Admirals and BEARS will meet next on December 5 along HERSHEYPARK Drive before HERSHEY travels to Hampton Roads for the first time this season on December 29. The Penguins will be without forward Mark Letestu Saturday. Letestu was recalled to Pittsburgh Saturday morning. Wilkes-Barre/Scranton enters play tonight in second place in the East Division, four points behind the front-running BEARS. The Penguins defeated the Albany River Rats 3-1 Friday night in New York’s Capital District. 13 games are on the slate for Saturday, featuring Houston at Lake Erie for a second consecutive day, Bridgeport at Adirondack and Norfolk at Albany. Elsewhere, Rochester skates at Grand Rapids, Syracuse travels to Hamilton to play the Bulldogs at Copps Coliseum, Providence is at Lowell, Manchester skates at Binghamton, and Hartford is at Worcester. Out west on Saturday, Milwaukee plays at Peoria, Chicago travels to Texas, Abbotsford is at Rockford to play the IceHogs, and Toronto concludes a two-game series in Winnipeg against Manitoba. Saturday’s game can be heard via the BEARS Radio Network (100.1 FM and www.Sportsjuice.com) beginning at 6:40 p.m. John Walton, Ed Coffey and Jim Jones have the call of the action from Giant Center.
