AUCOIN SCORES TWICE, BEARS BOUNCE BRUINS 5-1

November 8, 2009

The BEARS made it three wins in four games in New England Sunday, defeating the Providence Bruins 5-1 at Dunkin Donuts Center. HERSHEY fell behind 1-0 just 34 seconds into the game Sunday as Mark Derlago scored in close against Michal Neuvirth. As it turned out, the Bruins wouldn’t score after that. The BEARS would rally before intermission however as Keith Aucoin earned his fourth goal of the road trip and fifth goal of the season at 16:39. After a brief slow start, the Chocolate and White offense kicked into gear, outshooting the Bruins 15-8 in the first. With the score tied at the start of the second period, HERSHEY would start to pull away. Aucoin scored his second of the game at 3:15 of the frame, followed quickly by Patrick McNeill’s second goal of the season and the road trip at 7:37. Less than a minute later, Oskar Osala potted his fifth goal of the season at 8:03 to keep the offense piling up. With a 26-15 shot lead after two periods, the BEARS led 4-1. Francois Bouchard would finish off the convincing victory with his seventh goal of the season at 19:45 of period three. Neuvirth won his third straight game, making 24 saves.
