HERSHEY CLOSES OUT NEW ENGLAND TRIP SUNDAY

November 7, 2009

After two wins in three games in New England, the BEARS close out a four-game road trip through the northeast with a Sunday afternoon affair with the Providence Bruins. Face-off is at 4:05 p.m. In a battle of first place teams Saturday night at Verizon Wireless Arena, the BEARS emerged with a strong 4-1 victory over the Manchester Monarchs. Zach Miskovic scored his first AHL goal in the first period, and Oskar Osala was named the game’s number one star with a goal and an assist. Michal Neuvirth evened his record at three wins and three losses, winning his second straight start. Neuvirth made 28 saves to earn the win. Providence, who last faced the BEARS in the 2009 Eastern Conference Finals this past May, is currently in seventh place in the Atlantic Division. The Bruins are 5-7-1-0, trailing first place Manchester by nine points. Around the AHL on Sunday, there are four other games besides the BEARS and Bruins from Dunkin Donuts Center. The Binghamton Senators will play a home game at Scotiabank Place in Ottawa on Sunday, hosting the Hamilton Bulldogs north of the border at 3:00 p.m. eastern. Elsewhere, Grand Rapids is at Lake Erie, Lowell is at Bridgeport, and the Springfield Falcons visit Portland to play the Pirates at the Cumberland County Civic Center. Sunday’s game can be heard via the BEARS Radio Network (100.1 FM and www.Sportsjuice.com) beginning at 3:45 p.m. eastern. John Walton has the call of the action from downtown Providence.
