BEARS IN HARTFORD FRIDAY, LOOKING TO TAME THE PACK

The BEARS begin a stretch of five New England road games in its next six, squaring off with the Hartford Wolf Pack Friday night at the XL Center in Connecticut. Face-off is at 7:00 p.m. HERSHEY boasts three former Hartford skaters on its roster, including Alexandre Giroux, Boyd Kane and Brandon Sugden. Giroux was assigned Wednesday by Washington, and will be reinserted into the lineup for the Chocolate and White Friday night in central Connecticut. Darren Reid, suffering from flu-like symptoms, did not make the trip and is not available. The BEARS begin play Friday tied with Albany for first place in the East Division standings. Around the East Division Friday, the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins play the second of a two-game series at MTS Centre against the Manitoba Moose at 8:30 p.m. The Pens won 1-0 in overtime Thursday as John Curry outdueled former BEARS goaltender Daren Machesney. Albany is at home Friday to face Springfield, while the Adirondack Phantoms are on the road in Toronto to play the Marlies at Ricoh Coliseum. Binghamton hosts Rochester Friday, and Syracuse is on the road in Norfolk to face the Admirals at Norfolk Scope at 7:15 p.m. Friday’s game can be heard via the BEARS Radio Network (100.1 FM and www.Sportsjuice.com) beginning at 6:40 p.m. eastern.
