Capitals Assign Alexandre Giroux to Hershey
ARLINGTON, Va. â" The Washington Capitals have assigned left wing Alexandre Giroux to the American Hockey Leagueâ™s (AHL)
Hershey Bears, vice president and general manager George McPhee announced today.
Giroux (jhi-ROO) is a nine-year pro who stands 6â™3â, 202 pounds. He was recalled to Washington on Oct. 22, and played in three games for the Caps, recording a goal. Before being recalled to the Capitals Giroux had five goals and five assists in six games for the Bears.
Last season Giroux was named the AHL most valuable player after leading the league with 60 goals and 97 points for the Bears. He has 469 career AHL points (258g-211a) in 567 games.
