BUSY WEEKEND BEGINS FRIDAY IN WILKES-BARRE

October 23, 2009

The BEARS put the wraps on a three-game road trip Friday, taking on the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins in northeast PA. Face-off is at 7:05 p.m. The task of three games in three nights this weekend became considerably harder when the news came Thursday that Keith Aucoin and Alexandre Giroux had been recalled to the Washington Capitals. Andrew Gordon, the third member of HERSHEY’S first line since the first game of the regular season, practiced Thursday with Kyle Wilson and Boyd Kane on a new modified first line. The game with the Penguins is the second of 12 this season between the two clubs. HERSHEY won 3-0 back on October 9 as Braden Holtby earned his first pro shutout. Around the East Division Friday, the Albany River Rats are home to begin the weekend as the Rochester Americans come to town at 7:00 p.m. The Norfolk Admirals will host the Portland Pirates Friday at 7:15 p.m., with Binghamton on the road in Syracuse at 7:30 p.m. The Hartford Wolf Pack will visit Adirondack at 7:30 p.m. Friday to round out East Division action. Friday’s game can be heard via the BEARS Radio Network (100.1 FM and www.Sportsjuice.com) beginning at 6:45 p.m. eastern. John Walton has the call of the action from Wachovia Arena at Casey Plaza. HERSHEY returns home Saturday to face Binghamton at Giant Center at 7:00 p.m., with the Portland Pirates visiting for the only time this season Sunday at 5:00 p.m. Tickets are available at the Giant Center box office, or by calling (717) 534-3911.
