Eastern Conference Finals Start Saturday


05/15/2009 - aBEARS to Meet Providence Bruins First Time Ever in Post Seasona (Hershey, PA) — The Eastern Conference Finals of the 2009 Calder Cup Playoffs start this Saturday at GIANT Center, when the Chocolate and White take on the Providence Bruins in a 7:00 PM match up. This is the first time the Bears face the Bruins in postseason play. The "Party on the Plaza" will happen on Saturday and start at 4:30 PM. The ever evolving band Funktion will play live outside, getting fans pumped for the game. There will be food and nonalcoholic beverages available for purchase. Also, the first 8,000 fans will receive a rally towel Capital BlueCross, DUTCH WONDERLAND, Fairview Golf Course, Faulkner Honda, GEICO, HERSHEYPARK, The Hershey Company and PA CENTRAL CREDIT UNION. Funktion is a local band from Mechanicsburg. Their music encompasses all that is funky, soulful and jazzy. The band was formed in 1999 under the name Stone Jug. In 2005 Gabriel Middleton-Bass joined Max Matvienko-Sax, Tony Catalano-Guitar/Vocals, and Casey Kraynak-Drums. The band decided to strip its format of classic rock covers to focus on Funk. With a new focus the band changed it's name to the fitting Funktion. In 2008 Robin McClellan joined the band on Percussion and Vocals. Funktion has been growing a devoted fanbase woldwide.
