Kyle Calder scored two goals, including the game-winner in the third period, as the Toronto Marlies handed HERSHEY just its 12th regulation loss of the season Thursday. The Marlies won 3-2 at Ricoh Coliseum.
Andrew Joudrey kicked off the scoring just 64 seconds into the game, an unassisted tally off a Toronto turnover. The shot was HERSHEY'S first of the game, and it staked the Chocolate and White to a 1-0 lead. Calder began his offensive night by scoring a first period even strength goal to tie the game at one. The Marlies took a 2-1 lead in the second period on a power play goal from Juraj Mikus, a lead that carried over to the third. With Toronto enjoying its second five-on-three of the period, Calder scored his second goal of the game to give the home team a 3-1 lead.
Steve Pinizzotto pulled the BEARS within a goal late in the third with his ninth goal of the season at 16:27, but HERSHEY could pull no closer. Braden Holtby, who made 25 saves on 28 shots, absorbed just his fifth loss of the season. Veteran goalie Joey MacDonald made 28 saves in the win for Toronto.

Notes: The BEARS return home to face the Bridgeport Sound Tigers Saturday at Giant Center. The game is HERSHEY'S only home game of the week, with a 7:00 p.m. faceoff. Joudrey scored his first period goal with his father in attendance at the game, and Pinizzotto, a Mississauga, ON native, also had family in attendance for his third period tally. Joudrey's goal was his 11th of the season, tying his career high. Former BEARS defenseman Jeff Finger, currently playing for the Toronto Maple Leafs, attended the game.
