BEARS HEAD TO WILKES-BARRE/SCRANTON FRIDAY
01/29/2010 - The BEARS begin three games in three nights Friday, facing first the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins at the newly renamed Mohegan Sun Arena. Face-off is set for 7:05 p.m.
It has been an amazing run for Mark French's team heading to Wilkes-Barre Township Friday night. HERSHEY enters play this weekend winners of 17 of its last 18 games, including an active 14-game home winning streak. The BEARS head into the final weekend of January with a 10-1-0-0 record during the month.
The Chocolate and White enjoy a 15-point lead over second place Albany with a game in hand on the River Rats. Following Friday's game against the Penguins, HERSHEY will welcome the Rats to Giant Center Saturday night prior to a visit from Binghamton on Sunday.
Keith Aucoin leads the American Hockey League in goals and points heading into the weekend with 25 lamp lighters and 61 points. Alexandre Giroux ranks second in the AHL in points with 55. Braden Holtby, just assigned by Washington Thursday back to the BEARS, leads the league in goals against average at 1.82.
