BEARS ANNOUNCE 2009-10 REGULAR SEASON SCHEDULE
DEFENDING CHAMPIONS TO RAISE CALDER CUP BANNER OCTOBER 3 VS. NORFOLK, FINALS REMATCH WITH MANITOBA JANUARY 22-23 AT GIANT CENTER
HERSHEY – The 2009 Calder Cup Champion HERSHEY BEARS announced today in conjunction with the American Hockey League the schedule of games that will make up the 2009-10 regular season schedule. The announcement as made today by BEARS President/GM Doug Yingst.
The schedule features 18 different opponents in 2009-10, including four games with the defending Western Conference champion Manitoba Moose. Manitoba will visit GIANT Center January 22-23 in a rematch of last season's Calder Cup finalists. HERSHEY will also venture outside the East Division with games against the Toronto Marlies and Lake Erie Monsters, as well as matchups with every team in the Atlantic Division. The BEARS will open the regular season at home for the first time since the 2001-02 season when the Norfolk Admirals come to call on Saturday, October 3 at 7:00 p.m. The 2008-09 Calder Cup banner will be raised during pregame ceremonies that evening. Other 2009-10 schedule highlights include the traditional Wednesday before Thanksgiving game with the Providence Bruins on November 25 and the first visit by the Adirondack Phantoms on Saturday, November 28.
